Spicy Bean Dip

I have no idea where this recipe came from. It was served at my Great Grandmother's 80th birthday. Pretty sure she had some too. Edited to add, the recipe was from an Old El Paso ad she had found in a magazine.

1 16 oz can refried beans, I always use the low fat vegetarian kind
1 c shredded Monterrey jack or pepper jack cheese, if your spicy meter can take it
1/2 c. salsa
1 4 oz can chopped green chiles
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1/8 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp oregano

Mix all in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high 1 minute.
Remove and stir to combine.
Heat at one minute intervals until cheese it melted and mixture is hot.
Serve with tortilla chips.
