Pizza sauce
Breaking it out here so it's not combined with another recipe.
We use this often enough that it needs its own post.
1 1/2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
large pinch red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
14 ounce can of crushed tomatoes
2 tbs minced fresh parsley or basil leaves, or a mix
Kosher salt
Melt the butter and olive oil in a saucepan over medium low heat
Add the garlic, pepper flakes and oregano and cook for a few minutes to soften everything (I don't think I need to say again but I will, don't burn the garlic)
Add in the herb mixture and a large pinch of salt
Add in your tomatoes and cook at a simmer for about 15 minutes or until the desired consistency
