White Sangria

I had some white sangria at a girl's night out at the The Gondalier. I think I came up with a good clone of it.
Enough for a small gathering.

In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 c. brandy and 1/2 c. sugar and cook over low heat until the sugar melts.
Add 4-5 springs of mint and crush the leaves with a spoon, let cool and remove mint leaves.
In a large pitcher combine your favorite Sauvignon Blanc with a little bit of gingerale and enough of the syrup to make it sweet enough for your liking.
I don't remember what fruit they served with it but chopped apples, firm pears or halved grapes would be nice but they are optional.
