Grilled pizza review

We used our standard pizza dough recipe on Sunday for an experiment in grilled pizza.

The only change I would make is to split the dough into 4 balls and make sure you get them nice a flat before putting them on the grill.

Here's the method we use to grill pizza.
Keep one side of your grill on high and the other side on low.
Cook the first side on high until you see some nice grill marks, watch it carefully, then move it over to the warm side to cook another minute or so.
Flip over and cook the other side back on the hot side and start topping your pizza.
Make sure all your ingredients are prepped and cooked in small bowls with you outside and don't over sauce your pizza, it might get soggy.
By the time you've topped the pizza you can move it over to the warm side to let the cheese and other ingredients warm up.

  2. When we were in Montreal last week eating Reuben pizza with a total of 10 of us celebrating A's gradutation, I mentioned grilling pizza to the group. Grandpa and M thought I was from another planet. Aunt M, Uncle K, L, and A were all very interested in the concept. We may have to teach another family group to grill pizza.
