Cleaning supplies
After making four batches of my AP cleaner, I think it's time to write up the recipes here.
From Macheesmo
All Purpose Cleaner
3 tbs vinegar
1/2 tsp washing soda
1/2 tsp Dr. Bronner's soap
2 c. hot water
Lavender Antibacterial Spray
1 c. water
20 drops lavendar oil
Degreaser
2 c. water
1/4 c. Dr. Bronner's soap
10 drops lavender oil
Bathroom cleaner
2/3 c. baking soda
1/2 c. Dr. Bronner's soap
2 tbs vinegar
1/2 c. water
A few drops of tea tree oil
This one is really thick and needs to go in a squirt bottle instead of a spray bottle.
I found the washing soda, tea tree oil and Dr. Bronner's soap at my local grocery store. We had to make a trip to whole Foods for the lavender oil though. Dr. Bronner's comes in several different scents and we used peppermint this time though lavender would also be nice. The ingredients might be pricey to buy all at once but a one time purchase of washing soda will last us for years, the soap and oils probably will too. We use the AP cleaner all over the house because it works really well, smells great and I feel safe using it wherever the kids and the cats go. The degreaser does a really awesome job cleaning up cooking messes though I think it needs a rinse with water to get all the soap off. Now go and make your own cleaning supplies!
