Hard Times Cafe chili

Hard Times Cafe chili

Our family's favorite way to serve this chili is over spaghetti and topped with beans, onions and cheese - a five way. If you go to the Hard Times Cafe, they serve it with a sweet cornbread that's great if you butter it and then crumble into your chili. My toddlers gobbled this up. It's also good for chili cheese dogs.

2 1/2 lbs ground beef
enough water to cover the meat
1 2oz. bag of Hard Times spice mix
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
1 small onion, diced
1 tbs vinegar

Mix meat and water together and bring to a boil.
Mix in spice mix once meat is thoroughly cooked.
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, vinegar and onion and mix thoroughly.
Cook uncovered for1/2 to one hour at medium heat, stirring occasionally.
