Hawaiian turkey burgers

Pineapple on pizza?  Good.
Pinneapple in a quesadilla?  Good.
Pineapple on a burger?  As it turns out, is also good.

I'm trying to expand our grilling repertoire now that spring and summer are around the corner.  Too bad we picked this recipe on a day when it snowed!  We grilled on our grill pan inside instead.  I wouldn't suggest it though.  Because of the added pineapple juice in the burgers, it made scorch marks as it cooked.
3/2022 edit-
I've removed the pineapple juice from the burger.  I had to grill inside again (why am I always making these in the winter??) and it was fine without it.  Bonus, no scorch marks to clean.

These would be great as sliders too.  A little more labor intensive but who doesn't like little burgers?

1 pound lean ground turkey
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup green bell pepper, minced
1/2 cup thinly sliced green onion
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 small can pineapple slices
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 slices Swiss cheese
Light mayonnaise
Hamburger buns

In a mixing bowl, combine turkey, bread crumbs, pepper, onion, ginger, and salt.
Divide turkey mixture into 4 equal parts and form into patties.
Grill, broil or cook in a frying pan over medium until cooked through.
The last few minutes of cooking, place pineapple over heat to grill.
Place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty when warm.
Spread teriyaki sauce and light mayonnaise on buns and top with burgers and pineapple.
