Spicy cereal mix
Here's the not so secret snacking mix recipe. It's a doctored up spicy version that was on the back of a box modified for our tastes. Last year when we couldn't get together with family, we did this over video call in four different kitchens. Going to make that happen again this year too but our house couldn't wait. Making it as I type this up.
6 cups wheat cereal
6 cups corn cereal
6 cups rice cereal
2 cups pretzel sticks, broken into half
2 cups mixed nuts, or in our house just plain peanuts
2 cups cheese crackers, either spicy or white cheddar is our favorite
3/4 cup melted butter (1 1/2 sticks)
3 tbs Worcestershire sauce
4 tsp seasoned salt
as much hot sauce as you'd like
a dash of garlic powder
a little bit of liquid smoke
Split the dry ingredients over two large sheet pans and then mix lightly to combine
Melt the butter and add the spices and tiny whisk it together
Pour half over each pan and mix again
Bake at 250 for one hour, mixing the pans carefully
Store in an airtight container
