Cube steak and gravy

Another pressure cooker recipe.

We used a recipe from Adventures from a Nurse for the main part and then a substitute for canned onion soup from Cookin' with Super Pickle (awesome name!)

Start by making the onion sauce
1 small onion chopped, a little more than 1/2 cup
1 tbs molasses
1 tbs olive oil
3/4 cup boiling water
2 tsp beef base
1/4 cup cold water
2 tbs corn starch
1 tbs nutritional yeast

Cook the onion, oil and molasses in a small sauce pan over medium heat until onions and soft and mixture is bubbly about 5-7 minutes
Dissolve the beef base in the hot water and add to the mixture, stir to combine
Dissolve the corn starch in the cold water and combine, cook until thickened
Stir in the nutritional yeast and season with salt and pepper

2 lbs cube steaks
The above onion sauce
10 ounces of water
1 tbs beef base
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
some grinds of black pepper

1 tbs corn starch dissolved in some liquid from the pot if necessary

Dissolve the beef base in the water and then stir in the onion sauce to incorporate
Add the cube steak to the bottom of the pot and add everything else
Cook on high pressure for 15 minutes and then natural release for 5 minutes
Turn pot to sautee and add corn starch dissolved in water if it needs thickening
Serve over mashed potatoes
