French Toast Bake

A fan favorite from a B&B in Northern New York. 

14-16 slices of English muffin bread, diced into 1 inch cubes, about 10 cups
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2/3 cup half and half
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract


Place bread in a 9 X 13 inch pan
Beat cream cheese with an egg, one at a time until incorporated
Add milk, half and half, syrup and vanilla
Pour mixture over the bread for at least 2 hours or overnight
Bake at 375 for 50 minutes or until set
