Cherry apricot crisp

A concoction I made today to use up the fruit we got last week from the CSA, adapted from Mark Bittman.

1 pound of cheeries, pitted and halved
1 pound pitted and chopped nectarines
1/2 c. old fashioned oats (I added a few chopped almonds too)
1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
5 tbs cold unsalted butter cut into cubes

Combine the cherries and nectarines in a large pie pan
Mix the oats, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl
Add the cold butter and smash the butter into the oat mixture with your fingers or a pastry blender
Sprinkle on top and bake at 400 for 30-35 minutes or until the fruit is tender
